This is an excellent opportunity to join an established business with growth plans in place. My client are looking to take on a Warehouse and Logistics Manager in a newly created role providing you the opportunity to make the role your own. The role would be well suited to a Warehouse Manager with experience in managing teams of warehouse operators, continuous improvement initiatives and a strong health and safety focus. Working across a broad range of manufacturing sectors, this is a great chance to join a secure business who are breaking into new markets.
Role And Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire goods in/out process to ensure accurate and timely receipt and dispatch of goods.
- Lead the warehouse team ensuring that all operational systems and health and safety regulations are complied with and that personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of goods and materials are used.
- Maintain oversight of the stores area, including external yard area, finished goods warehouse and raw material stores.
- Manage and develop a team of Warehouse Operatives, Yard and Warehouse operative and team leader.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and champion 5S activities in the area.
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain stock accuracy reporting.
- Participate in and actively promote the company’s CIP (continuous improvement programme) looking for ways to continually improve the way we work and reduce waste.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A warehouse and logistics management background.
- Experience within FMCG industry is beneficial.
- Experience managing teams of warehouse staff.
- Health and safety focussed.
- Previous experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
