THE ROLE
- You will work on high volume residential projects along with projects in other sectors to include healthare, commercial and industrial encompassing both new build and refurbishment.
- You will work closely with a Partner helping to manage the delivery of structural engineering services and help to run the team.
- You will do peer reviews and technical mentoring for less senior engineers and technicians.
- You will act as the senior technical lead on complex or high value projects and you will provide design oversight and quality assurance.
- You will be responsible for delivery of projects within programme, budget and fee levels.
- You will manage fee agreements, scope changes and cost reporting.
- You will coordinate with the other professional teams and manage subconsultant and team resources.
- You will contribute to the preparation of fee proposals.
- You will work closely with clients building relationships.
- THE CLIENT
Our client is a successful, growing firm of consulting engineers who are working on various projects in the built environment. They currently have three UK offices.
- THE CANDIDATE
- You must have a BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and be Chartered with MICE or MIStruct E.
- You should have around ten years or more post graduate experience gained with a firm of civil / structural consulting engineers.
- It is essential that you have good structural engineering experience on U. K. projects and be up to date with U. K. codes etc.
- You will need good broad based structural engineering design experience.
- Experience of working on volume housing is required but you should also have experience of other types of projects too e. g. healthcare, commercial offices, and industrial projects.
- You need to have experience of managing the commercial aspects of projects i. e. fee monitoring, resource planning and project delivery against the programme.
- Experience of managing and mentoring a small team is required.
- You must have excellent communication skills : both written and spoken.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
Salary is negotiable from GBP69000 to GBP79000 per annum.
