Make sure you brush up on your electrical and mechanical knowledge. Familiarise yourself with common issues in heavy manufacturing environments, especially around motors, conveyors, and hydraulics. Being able to discuss specific examples from your past experience will show that you're the right fit for the role.

Technical Drawings Are Key

Since the job requires reading and understanding technical drawings, practice interpreting a few before your interview. You might be asked about how you would approach a problem based on a drawing, so being prepared can really set you apart from other candidates.

Show Your Team Spirit

This role is all about being part of a close-knit team. Be ready to share examples of how you've worked collaboratively in the past. Highlight any ad hoc tasks you've taken on to support your team, as this shows flexibility and a willingness to contribute beyond your core responsibilities.

Safety First!

Safety tests are a big part of the job, so be prepared to discuss your approach to safety in the workplace. Share any relevant experiences where you ensured safety protocols were followed, and demonstrate your commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
