The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will take ownership of quality assurance and continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations and industry standards. You will lead root cause analysis, manage non-conformances, and drive corrective and preventive actions across both internal processes and supplier/customer issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate internal and external continuous improvement activities
- Manage non-conformances, customer complaints, and returns (RMA process ownership)
- Carry out root cause analysis using tools such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues
- Manage quality systems including NCR, ECN, and CAR processes
- Support inspection activities when required
- Develop and improve quality strategies aligned to customer and industry requirements
- Work closely with suppliers to support robust qualification and quality assurance processes
- Identify process improvements and implement best practice across manufacturing
- Ensure timely containment, investigation, and resolution of quality issues
- Support internal audits, documentation, and quality reporting
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a manufacturing quality engineering role (5+ years)
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, Pareto, Ishikawa, 8D, etc.)
- Structured and methodical approach to problem solving
- Strong understanding of quality and process management systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Confident working in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing environment
- Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Hands-on approach with a strong attention to detail
- Experience using CMM or Faro Arm and metrology equipment (desirable)
- Background in precision machining or machine shop environments
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
- Travel to client sites may be required (planned in advance, expenses covered)
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team
