About The Role
You will be working alongside experienced teachers within small classes, individually and in groups, to learn and develop your teaching skills. You will observe, assist, and eventually lead engaging learning activities that encourage pupils' learning and progression, focusing on improving their social and emotional development. You will be instrumental in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment where children can thrive.
What will I be doing?
- Observe and assist experienced teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
- Gain practical experience in planning and delivering lessons, focusing on communication skills and life skills.
- Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
- Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
- Support with personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding).
- Monitor pupil progress, observing how different teaching approaches impact learning.
- Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time.
