As a Workshop Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maintain, inspect and repair our extensive range of hire equipment and assets, ensuring customers receive equipment that is safe, reliable and ready for use when they need it. This role is key to supporting the performance and efficiency of the branch and wider business. Formal qualifications are not essential, as full in-house training will be provided to candidates with the right mechanical aptitude, practical skills, or willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Test, inspect and carry out repairs on hire equipment and assets
  • Ensure all hire equipment is clean, presentable and ready for hire
  • Work closely with the Hire Desk team to manage hire turnaround efficiently
  • Complete all records accurately and in line with company procedures
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and company policies at all times
  • Manage spares and parts to minimise equipment downtime and off-hire periods
  • Assist with stock takes and inventory management when required
  • Support branch operations by assisting with counter duties, deliveries and collections when necessary

  • Experience working with machinery, tools or mechanical/electrical equipment (desirable but not essential)

  • Organised and methodical approach to work with strong attention to detail
  • Professional and customer-focused attitude
  • Comfortable using IT equipment and systems
  • Positive can-do attitude and willingness to support across the branch
  • Valid driving licence (desirable but not essential)
