A long-established and very successful metal forming company based in Willenhall in the West Midlands is looking for a Forging Operative to join its busy workforce. Recent refurbishment has made this the most modern facility in the UK, offering extensive in-house services to their clients.
Along with a competitive hourly rate depending on experience of above GBP 12.21, you will also receive 33 days holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays to be taken during factory shutdown), overtime opportunities, and a company-wide performance incentive scheme which generated an additional GBP 8 gross last year.
You will be working Monday-Thursday, 07:30-16:00 and Friday, 07:30-15:00.
As Forging Operative, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Manufacturing parts to high quality in relatively short lead times
- Flexible working in various departments to meet production demands, typically finishing/grinding/forging but not exclusively
- Monitoring of raw material condition during production
- Assisting with the forging of materials into various complex shapes and finishes
- Training will be provided in all production and non-production areas to develop a multi-skilled individual
- Finishing product ready for dispatch to customers
- Post-production clean down and general maintenance of plant and machinery in preparation for next production schedules
- Pre-production preparation of plant and machinery
What We\’re Looking For In a Forging Operative
- An interest in the metal industry and engineering in general
- Flexible towards working hours
- Physically strong and fit

- An interest in Metallurgy or Chemistry would be advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial engineering environment would be advantageous but not essential
