We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join us as a NPCC FOI Officer, within a national policing unit.

As a Freedom of Information Officer, you will play a key role in managing and responding to FOI requests received by the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC). You will research and analyse information, apply FOI legislation and exemptions, draft responses, and work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the police service to ensure timely and compliant disclosures.

We're looking for someone with strong written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to analyse and interpret information. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and confident in building effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Flexible working requests will be considered for this vacancy. The successful applicant must work a minimum of 30 hours, across 4 days. Working hours can be discussed at interview.

The NPFDU manage and coordinate national FOI activity, and act as the central conduit for advice and guidance across UK forces. The Unit is hosted by Hampshire Constabulary and operates within the ACRO Criminal Records Office, another national unit.

All staff are employees of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, and are provided with the same benefits of working within the public sector as other members of police staff.

  • Educated to Level 5 OR work experience deemed to have brough the role holder to a comparable level.
