We are a specialist engineering organisation in the aerospace sector, seeking a Contract Electronics Design Engineer to support ongoing aircraft systems integration and modification programmes.

Role Overview

You will design and develop electronic and electrical systems for aircraft modifications, producing detailed design outputs from concept through to installation and certification support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electronic/electrical systems for aircraft applications
  • Produce schematics, wiring diagrams and harness documentation
  • Support PCB/interface design and system integration where applicable
  • Perform electrical load analysis and system compatibility checks
  • Address EMC/EMI considerations and grounding/shielding strategies
  • Prepare design documentation and compliance support
  • Liaise with mechanical, certification and installation teams

Requirements

  • Experience in electronics/electrical design engineering
  • Strong schematic and system design capability
  • Experience in regulated or safety‑critical industries (aerospace, defence, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent
  • Understanding of EMC, power distribution and system integration principles

Contract Details

  • Contract position – 6 months, likely extension
  • Competitive hourly rate up to GBP 70 per hour
  • Immediate or short notice start preferred
