About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Manager : Used Equipment to take ownership of the complete used equipment lifecycle.

Based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, this is a national role responsible for sourcing, valuing, refurbishing, marketing and selling used construction equipment while delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout every stage of the process.

Working closely with internal sales teams, workshops and customers, you will play a key role in maximiseing profitability, managing inventory and developing long: term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Trade: In Procurement and Equipment Valuation

  • : Evaluate the condition and specification of used equipment offered in part exchange.
  • : Work closely with the new equipment sales team to provide accurate trade: in valuations whilst maintaining a minimum future sales margin of 5.
  • : Attend equipment auctions, both in person and online, to monitor market trends and establish current market values.
  • : Maintain and update used equipment valuation records.
  • : Prepare all purchase documentation relating to traded: in equipment.
  • Used Equipment Sales And Marketing
  • : Coordinate the preparation, presentation, photography and video of used equipment ready for sale.
  • : Create engaging online listings across industry platforms and social media channels.
  • : Promote used equipment to both domestic and international buyers.
  • : Negotiate sales to achieve target margins or obtain the necessary management approval where required.
  • : Complete all sales documentation and oversee the sales process through to completion.
  • : Organise and liaise with used equipment auction events.
  • Equipment Refurbishment And Preparation
  • : Arrange inspections of equipment entering stock and identify refurbishment requirements.
  • : Review workshop recommendations and associated costs to maximise resale value and profitability.
  • : Develop, coordinate and monitor refurbishment plans for each machine.
  • : Respond effectively to changes in refurbishment requirements during the process.
  • : Liaise with third: party suppliers and specialist repair providers.
  • : Update stock values following refurbishment.
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • : Visit customers across the UK to understand their current and future equipment requirements.
  • : Build strong, long: term relationships with customers and industry partners.
  • : Identify opportunities for both new and used equipment sales.
  • : Maintain accurate CRM records for customer visits, leads and opportunities.
  • : Develop a thorough understanding of customers businesses, operational requirements and future project pipelines.
  • : Discuss finance and payment options where appropriate.
  • : Resolve customer concerns by working collaboratively with internal teams.
  • : Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions and customer factory visits.
  • Inventory Management
  • : Manage used equipment inventory to ensure less than 20 of stock is over 12 months old.
  • : Conduct regular yard stock counts.
  • : Control the receipt, storage and issue of machine accessories.
  • : Maintain accurate equipment tracking records.
  • : Produce stock ageing reports and implement sales and marketing plans for ageing inventory.
