A well established architecture and property consultancy is seeking an experienced Design Team Manager to lead and strengthen its growing design division based in Exeter. Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead and support the design team on a day to day basis
  • Coordinate workloads and allocate resources effectively across projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Provide mentoring, guidance and ongoing support to team members
  • Collaborate closely with planning and property professionals across the business
  • Maintain strong technical and design quality throughout all stages of delivery
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and staff development activities
  • Identify and implement improvements to workflows and project processes
  • Act as a senior contact for clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
  • Promote a positive and productive team environment

Experience Required

  • Degree qualified in Architectural Technology or qualified ARB Architect
  • Previous experience leading or managing an architectural or design team
  • Strong background within architecture, planning or consultancy sectors
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple live projects
  • Confident liaising with clients and key stakeholders
  • Experience working on rural, residential, agricultural or commercial developments is desirable
  • Good understanding of planning processes, design coordination and project delivery
  • Commercially minded with strong organisational and problem solving abilities
