About The Role
Appleton Woods are looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver / Warehouse Operative to join their busy operations team in Kings Norton. This is a varied, hands-on role combining multi-drop delivery driving with warehouse duties. You will play an important role in ensuring customer orders are delivered safely, efficiently and on time, whilst also supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the warehouse. The role would suit someone who enjoys being active, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and is happy working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivery Driving
- Carrying out multi-drop deliveries across designated routes
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
- Planning and organising delivery runs to maximise efficiency
- Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
- Managing proof of delivery paperwork and documentation
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues
- Ensuring compliance with road safety and transport regulations
- Warehouse Duties
- Receiving, unloading and storing incoming goods
- Picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch
- Handling temperature-controlled stock correctly
- Supporting stock replenishment, rotation and batch control
- Processing consignments for third-party couriers
- Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate records
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Previous warehouse and/or delivery driving experience
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Basic IT skills
- Located within approximately 30 minutes of Kings Norton
Desirable Skills:
- Multi-drop delivery experience
- Reach forklift licence (training can be provided)
- Experience using SAP
- Experience handling temperature-controlled goods
