Responsibilities
Represent clients detained at police stations.
Manage a varied caseload covering the full range of criminal offences.
Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates\’ Court, including summary trials.
Appear in the Crown Court where Higher Rights are held.
Deliver consistently high-quality representation to all clients.
Contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.
Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems.
Pragmatic, professional and positive approach to work.
Able to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
High level of attention to detail.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year PQE in criminal law.
Strong interest in publicly funded criminal defence work.
Crime Duty Accreditation preferred but not essential.
Willingness to obtain Duty Accreditation (full support provided).
Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
