A leading firm is looking to appoint a dedicated Duty Solicitor to strengthen its expanding Crime Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients detained at police stations.
  • Manage a varied caseload covering the full range of criminal offences.
  • Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates' Court, including summary trials.
  • Appear in the Crown Court where Higher Rights are held.
  • Deliver consistently high-quality representation to all clients.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems.
  • Pragmatic, professional and positive approach to work.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • High level of attention to detail.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year PQE in criminal law.
  • Strong interest in publicly funded criminal defence work.
  • Crime Duty Accreditation preferred but not essential.
  • Willingness to obtain Duty Accreditation (full support provided).
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
