A leading firm is looking to appoint a dedicated Duty Solicitor to strengthen its expanding Crime Team.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients detained at police stations.
- Manage a varied caseload covering the full range of criminal offences.
- Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates' Court, including summary trials.
- Appear in the Crown Court where Higher Rights are held.
- Deliver consistently high-quality representation to all clients.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems.
- Pragmatic, professional and positive approach to work.
- Able to meet tight deadlines and perform well under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year PQE in criminal law.
- Strong interest in publicly funded criminal defence work.
- Crime Duty Accreditation preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to obtain Duty Accreditation (full support provided).
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
