Salary: £140 – £233 per day (weekly pay depends on experience)

Role Overview

As a Secondary Art Teacher, you are responsible for developing students' technical proficiency and their ability to think critically about visual culture.

  • Expert Lesson Delivery: Facilitate engaging practical workshops, encouraging students to experiment with materials while teaching the formal elements of art and design.
  • GCSE and A‑Level Focus: Support examination cohorts with targeted portfolio advice, focusing on AO1–AO4 assessment objectives and the refinement of final outcomes.
  • Studio Management: Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring learning environment, ensuring all students handle equipment and materials with respect and skill.
  • Adaptive Support: Differentiate creative tasks on the fly to support students with SEND or EAL, ensuring that the joy of artistic expression is accessible to all.

Essential Requirements

  • Hold QTS: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification (ECTs are highly encouraged).
  • Art Specialist: Degree in Fine Art, Design, or a related field, with a solid grasp of the KS3/KS4 National Curriculum and assessment criteria.
  • Engaging Mentor: Ability to build rapport with teenagers quickly and use passion for the arts to spark their imagination.
  • Committed: Hold an enhanced DBS on the updated service (or are willing) and are fully dedicated to safeguarding.
