An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Contracts Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking landscaping and grounds maintenance business operating across Kent and the surrounding areas. We are looking for a motivated individual with strong operational and commercial experience within commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, arboriculture, or related sectors. This role offers the chance to take ownership of contracts, manage multiple live projects, lead operational teams, and support the continued growth of the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance contracts across multiple sites
  • Organising labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery of works
  • Carrying out regular site visits, inspections, and quality checks
  • Managing project programmes, budgets, and profitability
  • Preparing quotations, pricing works, and assisting with tenders and bids
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with health and safety legislation and company procedures
  • Producing site reports and operational documentation where required
  • Supporting, motivating, and developing supervisors and site teams
  • Identifying opportunities for additional works, upselling, and contract growth
  • Supporting business development activities and securing new opportunities within the commercial landscaping and public realm sectors
Requirements
  • Proven experience within commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, arboriculture, or similar industries
  • Experience managing operational teams and multiple live contracts
  • Strong commercial awareness and budgeting experience
  • Ability to read specifications, drawings, and tender documents
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and client management skills
  • Proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and site compliance
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • Experience working on local authority, commercial, or public realm contracts
  • Horticultural or landscaping qualifications
