Class Teacher needed for a Specialist School in Uxbridge. TLTP are looking for a qualified SEN Class Teacher to work full‑time at a Complex Needs School. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils aged 7–19 with autism and moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties/disabilities, including visual and hearing impairments.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver highly individualized, engaging, and meaningful lessons that consider cognitive, communication, and sensory profiles.
  • Lead and manage a class team of support staff to ensure a consistent and person‑centred approach across the day.
  • Work collaboratively with therapists and other professionals to embed therapeutic strategies into daily teaching.
  • Use augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC) including high‑tech (e.g., communication devices/apps) and low‑tech (e.g., PECS, Sign:Along, visual supports).
  • Build strong relationships with families and contribute positively to home‑school communication.
  • Play an active role in annual reviews and contribute meaningfully to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.

Required Skills

  • Qualified teacher with proven SEN experience, ideally in a special school setting.
  • Extensive experience with AAC systems: both high‑tech and low‑tech.
  • Experience teaching students with complex and severe learning needs, sensory processing difficulties and managing behaviours positively using PBS principles.
  • Skilled in multidisciplinary collaboration and confident embedding therapeutic and regulation strategies into teaching.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and support a class team to deliver high‑quality, consistent care and education.
  • Confidence in working with parents/carers and supporting EHCP processes.
