Overview
A well established Somerset law firm is seeking a Court of Protection Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its Wills, Trusts and Estate Administration Department. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced Partners and Consultants within a friendly, supportive and client focused firm, where professional development is actively encouraged and individual career goals are supported.
Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of Court of Protection and attorneyship matters
- Depending on experience and interest, assisting with a broader private client caseload, including: Estate and trust administration, Will drafting and preparation and advice on Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Regular client contact, including face to face meetings
- Delivering tailored, compassionate advice aligned with each client's best interests
- Efficiently progressing files with effective use of administrative and support resources
- Keeping clients regularly informed on progress and costs
- Day to day responsibility for cash management on own matters, supported by an experienced accounts team
- Supporting Partners with business development and marketing initiatives
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 2:4 years' PQE
- Recent experience running a Court of Protection caseload from instruction to conclusion
- Strong client care and communication skills (written, telephone and face to face)
- Proactive, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative
- Highly organised with excellent diary and workload management skills
- Strong attention to detail with accurate drafting and typing skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and PDF software
- Experience with Oyez Forms is advantageous but not essential
