Hours: 39 hours per week, rotating morning and afternoon shifts

Pay: A GBP 38,532 per annum / A GBP 19 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set and operate CNC milling machines
  • Create, edit and optimize CNC programmes to improve machining efficiency
  • Manufacture one off and batch components from engineering drawings
  • Select the correct tooling, fixtures and workholding for each job
  • Carry out tool changes and make machine offsets where required
  • Inspect finished components ysing a range of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and height gauges
  • Complete first off inspections and ensure components meet quality standards
  • Identify process improvements to reduce cycle times and increase productivity
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment

About You

  • Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and a quality:focus approach
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently

Experience with CAD/CAM software and machine controls such as Haas, Hurco, Mazak, Fanuc or Matsuura would be highly advantegous, as would an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
