THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a Civil / Drainage and Flood Risk Engineer to join my client, a firm of consulting engineers in their Somerset office.
You will join their team working on a good range of drainage and infrastructure schemes for really interesting and challenging projects including heritage sites, private estates, university campuses and more.
You will deal with surface water and foul water drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, attenuation and infiltration systems, technical SuDs designs and drainage calculations to statutory bodies and water companies.
You will have the opportunity of some hybrid working and you will be given support towards becoming chartered with MICE or CIWEM.
My client is seeking someone who already has at least two years or more experience post graduation working with another firm of consulting engineers.
THE CLIENT
Our client is a successful, expanding firm of consulting engineers doing Civil and Structural Engineering.
They currently have two UK offices.
THE CANDIDATE
You will need to have experience of the following:
- You must have a BSc in Civil Engineering.
- You need to have at least two years or more experience as a Civil and Drainage Engineer working for another firm of consulting engineers.
- You need to have some experience of SuDS.
- You need experience of design and assisting with the design of surface water and foul water drainage systems.
- You need some experience of preparing or assisting with Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy reports.
- Some experience of the preparation and submission of applications to statutory bodies and water companies for Section 104/106/185/50 agreements, do Land Drainage Consent applications and FRAP and EA Environmental Permits etc.
- You will do site visits and attend meetings with architects, planners, engineers, local authorities etc.
- You will ideally be working towards becoming chartered or be keen to do so and my client will give you good support towards chartership.
- A U.K. passport and driving licence is required as you will need to be able to get National Security Vetting CTC / Level 1B clearance.
Salary is negotiable between GBP30000 and GBP45000 depending on your level of experience plus pension and benefits.
