Build the people engine. Unlock the growth. Then help scale the business.

Our client is entering an ambitious phase of growth, and they are looking for a Chief of Staff: People, Recruitment and Operations to build the operational foundations that will make that growth possible. This isn't a traditional HR leadership role. It starts with people and recruitment, but the opportunity is much bigger: build the people machine first, then grow into the operational number two for the group.

The Role

  • Define every role from the centre floor upwards: what the role exists to achieve, how success is measured, and how it translates into a clear job description.
  • Build an end-to-end recruitment engine covering attraction, selection and onboarding with a particular focus on making better hiring decisions and ensuring great people stay.
  • Bring HR and Operations together under one clear, practical framework.
  • Take ownership of workforce planning and manage salary costs carefully as the organisation grows.
  • Mentor and develop our existing Talent function, raising capability rather than simply replacing what already exists.
  • Build the processes, standards and accountability needed to create a consistent employee experience across the business.

Experience

  • You will be someone who combines People expertise with an operator's mindset.
  • Strong experience in hospitality, leisure and lifestyle services.
  • You understand recruitment, talent and HR but you're equally comfortable talking about performance, processes, costs, facilities and what is actually happening on the ground.
  • You build rather than maintain. You simplify rather than add bureaucracy. And you're comfortable being measured by outcomes rather than activity.

This is an opportunity to build the people infrastructure behind an ambitious growth story and then help lead the operation that growth creates.
