On a Typical Day, You Will

  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop mechanical building services solutions
  • Use Revit MEP and AutoCAD to create and refine designs
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services with other disciplines
  • Conduct design reviews and calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any design challenges
  • Mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering their professional growth

Responsibilities

  • Designing mechanical building services, including HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Producing detailed mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reports
  • Developing and coordinating Revit MEP models for mechanical services
  • Creating accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD
  • Collaborating within coordinated BIM models alongside electrical, structural, and architectural teams
  • Participating in BIM coordination meetings and conducting clash detection exercises to resolve design issues prior to construction
  • Assisting in the development of coordinated building services solutions from concept through to project completion
  • Attending client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
  • Liaising closely with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services design
  • Expertise in HVAC design and specification
