In this all-age setting, you will support students with complex medical, physical, and sensory needs. Your work will bridge the gap between healthcare and education, focusing on:
- Multi-Sensory Learning: Facilitating engagement through sensory stories, hydrotherapy, and intensive interaction techniques.
- Complex Care: Providing dignified personal care, including support with specialised feeding (PEG/Oral) and personal hygiene.
- Physical Support: Safely managing student mobility using hoists, slings, and standing frames (Full training provided).
- Communication Advocacy: Implementing Total Communication strategies using Makaton, PECS, and high-tech eye-gaze software.
Requirements
- Experience: Background in SEN education, nursing, or adult/child complex care is highly advantageous.
- Mindset: A calm, patient, and proactive approach to student-led learning.
- Technical Skill: Familiarity with Moving and Handling procedures is preferred, though Randstad offers refresher training.
- Compliance: You must hold (or be willing for) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
