I am seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Middleweight Interior Designer to join a welcoming team based in Chelmsford. The well-established firm works across diverse sectors including hospitality, residential, and healthcare, consistently delivering creative, client-focused solutions. With a well-established reputation, they pride themselves on building long-lasting relationships with their clients.

On Offer:

  • Collaborative studio environment with a team of approximately 15 professionals.
  • Full-time, office-based role working Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Four weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Additional gifted leave between Christmas and New Year.
  • Company pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support interior design projects through all stages, from feasibility and concept design to construction and handover.
  • Develop innovative design concepts and prepare presentation materials for client meetings.
  • Produce high-quality technical drawing packages, including plans, elevations, sections and bespoke joinery details.
  • Prepare FF and E specifications, source products and obtain supplier quotations.
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
  • Attend site visits and project meetings, monitoring progress and resolving design-related queries.
  • Manage snagging activities and support projects through to successful completion.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, design trends, materials and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Sufficient experience within commercial interior design.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing hospitality, workplace and/or hotel projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; rendering software experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent design, space planning and technical detailing skills.
  • Experience presenting concepts to clients and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong understanding of FF and E specification, material selection and supplier coordination.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, together with a full UK driving licence.
