Overview

As the Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for managing several large packages on a high security facility in Newport valued around GBP20m. This is an important role within a respected contractor, offering the chance to gain some fantastic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager
  • Administration and commercial management of multiple subcontract work packages from procurement to final account.
  • Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), financial forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Management and negotiation of variations, claims, and final accounts with subcontractors and the client.
  • Assisting in the production and issue of commercial notices to both the Client and Subcontractors.
  • Working to maintain profit and margin targets across assigned packages.

Requirements

  • Experience working for a Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractor as a Project Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor is preferred
  • Experience working on projects GBP20m:GBP50m
  • Ability to manage and commercially control multiple, complex work packages at one time.
  • Experience in high-end projects, including heritage, refurbishment, or complex new build schemes is beneficial.
  • Good contractual knowledge and negotiation skills.
  • Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction discipline.
