As their business continues to grow throughout the East of England, they are looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their team in Cambridge.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects from commencement through to completion.

Working alongside an experienced project team, you will ensure projects are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You will play a key role in maintaining excellent relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team while promoting a positive site culture focused on safety, quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day: to: day site operations on commercial construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers to achieve programme milestones.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and company procedures.
  • Manage all site documentation including permits to work, inspections, risk assessments, method statements and quality records.
  • Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation to ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Design Team throughout project delivery.
  • Support procurement activities and maintain strong commercial awareness throughout the project.
  • Ensure quality standards are achieved from commencement through to successful handover.
  • Assist in delivering sustainability objectives, environmental targets and community engagement initiatives where applicable.

About You

They are looking for an experienced and motivated Site Manager with a proactive approach and excellent leadership skills.

  • You Will Have
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects valued at GBP2 million or more.
  • Previous experience acting as the No.1 Site Manager from project start through to completion.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Good commercial awareness and problem: solving ability.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and maintaining programme performance.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • A relevant construction qualification.
  • SMSTS, CSCS Manager Card and First Aid at Work (or equivalent).
  • A full UK driving licence.
