Job Title CAD Engineer : P and ID / Plant Drawings. Contract Type Contract : Outside IR35. Duration 1:2 months. Working Model Hybrid. Hourly Rate GBP 25:30/hr.
Role Overview
We are engaging an experienced CAD Engineer for a short-term contract opportunity, supporting the verification, tracing, and updating of plant P and ID drawings. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, involving field walkdowns to ensure drawings accurately reflect the physical plant, and updating documentation to produce clear, as-built drawings.
Responsibilities
- Trace and verify pipework against existing plant drawings
- Conduct field walkdowns to confirm accuracy of P and ID drawings
- Update and redline P and ID drawings to reflect as-built conditions
- Produce clear, accurate, and timely documentation of changes
- Collaborate with site engineers and project teams to resolve discrepancies
Required Skills And Experience
- Proven experience working as a CAD Engineer in an industrial or plant environment
- Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD and P and ID drawings
- Ability to carry out site verification and field walkdowns
- Strong attention to detail and methodical approach
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently
Desirable Experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Previous work in chemical, pharma, utilities, or manufacturing plants
- Understanding of piping specifications, valve types, and instrumentation symbols
