This role involves teaching the full Science curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with the potential to teach your specialist subject at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) if desired. You will be responsible for planning and delivering stimulating lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, track student progress rigorously, and maintain a high standard of classroom management. The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player, contributing actively to curriculum development and extracurricular science activities.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons to students across KS3 and KS4, consistently striving for outstanding outcomes.
- If applicable, teach A-Level Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics) with confidence and deep subject knowledge.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, orderly, and well-managed learning environment in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and the school's performance management cycle.
- Contribute to the extra-curricular life of the department (e.g., Science clubs, trips, or revision sessions).
- Uphold the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, alongside a relevant Science-related degree.
- Proven experience teaching Science across KS3 and KS4 is required; experience teaching KS5 is highly desirable.
- A strong record of achieving excellent student progress and attainment in Science.
- Outstanding classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills.
- Deep commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up-to-date with curriculum changes.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
- Must satisfy all relevant safeguarding and background checks.
- GBP170 : GBP240 per day
