The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and committed Qualified Teacher of English to join a highly regarded mainstream Secondary School based in the beautiful Bury St Edmunds area. You will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 (depending on experience and preference). Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of all pupils and align with the National Curriculum.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a closely related field are essential.
  • Proven experience teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with Key Stage 5 experience being desirable).
  • A naturally enthusiastic and inspirational teaching style, with the ability to manage and motivate large classes of students.
  • Excellent subject knowledge, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to professional development.
  • The ability to quickly establish strong, professional, and trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one promptly).
