Our client, an internationally prevalent consultancy is in need of an experienced individual to join their vibrant office in Manchester. Working on a variety of projects across the globe this role offers the right candidate fantastic opportunities to develop their career. The successful candidate will have worked as an acoustic consultant and will possess strong post qualification experience preferably within the environmental field.

Qualifications

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in an acoustics-related discipline.
  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics.
  • Extensive and detailed understanding of Environmental Acoustics.
  • Minimum of 2 years consultancy experience within Environmental Acoustics.
  • Self‑motivated, able to learn quickly and work independently to deadlines.
  • Ability to write fluent and intelligible reports with a high emphasis on accuracy and consistency.
  • Good communication and client liaison skills.
  • Familiarity using noise monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out acoustic assessments, noise measurements, surveys, and site inspections.
  • Advise on architectural, MEP, and structural design.
  • Oversee and run acoustic modeling programs.
  • Liaise with consultants, engineers, and architects.
  • Project management: writing high-quality reports and undertaking acoustic assessments in accordance with Building Regulations, Building Bulletins, British and International Standards.
  • Assisting in business development.
  • Producing Environmental Impact Assessments for large infrastructure projects.
  • Work on large-scale multidisciplinary projects including building acoustics and EIAs for various developments such as rail and road schemes.
