Are you a Senior Highway Design Engineer ready to take ownership of S278 and S38 schemes in Bristol? This role offers full project responsibility, client exposure and the chance to help build a growing highways function within a private sector consultancy.
You will be based in Bristol, supporting an established local client base while delivering projects across the UK. This position suits someone who wants to manage schemes end to end, develop leadership skills and progress toward Principal level within a supportive team.
The Senior Highway Design Engineer will lead highways design, coordinate with stakeholders and contribute to project delivery from concept through to approval. This role is ideal for someone confident in technical delivery and keen to take the next step.
Key responsibilities:- Lead S278 and S38 highway design and approvals
- Produce and check drawings using AutoCAD and Site 3D
- Coordinate with local authorities, clients and design teams
- Support drainage and flood risk inputs where required
- Manage selected highway schemes from start to completion
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Around 3 to 5 years UK consultancy experience
- Strong development-led highways design background
- Experience with AutoCAD and Site 3D
- Confident, organised and commercially aware
- Keen to progress into a leadership role
