We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our client, a leading independent sustainability and engineering consultancy. Day-to-Day

Your Typical Day Will Involve:

  • Conducting detailed energy and environmental modelling using IES VE software.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to provide expert advice on sustainable design strategies.
  • Preparing reports and documentation to support compliance with regulations and certifications.
  • Attending project meetings to influence design decisions and ensure alignment with sustainability goals.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices to deliver innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise IES VE software to conduct advanced building performance modelling and analysis.
  • Support the development of Net Zero Carbon and operational energy strategies in line with UKGBC, LETI, RIBA 2030, and local planning requirements.
  • Assess projects for compliance with Part L, Part O, CIBSE TM52/59, EPCs, CIBSE TM54/NABERS, and Passive House accreditation.
  • Provide modelling input to support relevant BREEAM credits.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance, performance, and best practices are integrated into design decisions from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

  • A degree in physical sciences, or an engineering discipline such as physics, mechanical, electrical, building services engineering, environmental, or architectural engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of sustainable building design principles.
  • Proficiency in IES VE software.
  • A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change in the built environment.
