The Role
- Work closely with partners and senior colleagues on complex and high-profile matters.
- Advise clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues, including redundancy, disciplinary processes, grievances, whistleblowing, and discrimination.
- Manage the defence of Employment Tribunal claims.
- Support clients through restructuring and workforce change projects, including changes to terms and conditions and consultation processes.
- Draft legal updates, author articles, and deliver training as part of a structured business development and client engagement strategy.
Skills Required
- 5+ years PQE with a strong background in employment law.
- Confidence in managing own caseload and delivering pragmatic, solution-focused advice.
- Experience with equal pay matters is desirable but not essential.
- Ideally, previous mentoring or supervision of junior team members.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and client-handling skills.
- Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A team player mindset with a flexible, proactive approach.
- A genuine interest in business development and building long-term client relationships.
