What Youll Be Doing
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, including multi-axis, twin-spindle machines (Miyano or similar)
- Program machines online to optimize production and maintain tight tolerances
- Install workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools, and soft jaws whilst ensuring accurate datum settings
- Carry out in-process inspections to guarantee parts meet quality standards (GD and T knowledge desirable)
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and recalibrate machines and measuring equipment
- Work alongside engineers and colleagues to improve process and efficiency
Shifts
- Morning Shift: 6:00am β 2:00pm Monday to Thursday; 6:00am β 11:00am Friday
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm β 10:00pm Monday to Thursday; 11:00am β 4:00pm Friday
Pay
GBP 16/hr + 25 shift allowance (rising to GBP 17/hr + 25 shift allowance for experienced online programmers)
Skills And Experience
- Proven CNC turning experience, ideally Miyano machines or similar
- Confident in online programming at the machine; offline programming would also be advantageous but not essential
- Ability to read technical drawings and apply precise machining techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Team player with good communication skills, flexible and willing to learn
