Our wellâestablished and highly respected awardâwinning solicitors firm is seeking an Abuse Compensation Claims Paralegal to provide vital support to our dedicated team. You will work to provide a high level of support to the Team to enable them to efficiently progress their client cases.

Responsibilities- Support the Criminal Injury Compensation Claims department to efficiently and effectively progress, conclude and maximise the compensation awards in Scheme Abuse claims.
- Maintain a high standard of client care for both new and existing clients to ensure repeat business and recommendations.
- Accurately obtain client information and claim details. Handle new and existing matters from the outset to completion.
- Set up files and open new cases on the case management system.
- Communicate internally with the CICA team, support staff and finance department and externally with clients, abuse schemes and other third parties.
- Use the case management calendar system to plan and prioritise case and file management so deadlines are met and compensation maximised.
- Update the case management system.
- Maintain routine correspondence, telephone calls and legal drafting while ensuring full compliance with Abuse schemes.
- Adhere to the firm's financial policies of billing and invoicing.
- File closure and archiving.
- Train and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
- Provide holiday cover for colleagues in the CICA department.
- Any additional duties that may be required to assist the running of the practice.
- Experience of working in a client/customer facing or customer service role.
- Experience communicating to clients or third parties on the telephone and by email.
- Experience in an office setting.
- Experience using databases and computer management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with file handling.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills to effectively manage conflicting priorities.
- Excellent communicator who can politely take the lead in a conversation.
- Capable of using diplomacy, tact and sensitivity when dealing with others.
- Good English language skills.
- Excellent team player who can get on with others.
- Ability to handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Good information technology skills: must be adept in the use of MS Office, particularly Word and Outlook, and ideally case management systems to a basic level, internet and email.
- Possess commercial awareness.
