A Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing business in Blackburn. The role is full‑time, day shift 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (40 hour week) with an annual salary of £40,000.
What You Will Do
- Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and reliable condition.
- Conduct effective risk assessments to promote safety for yourself and your team.
- Repair and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
- Analyse data to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
- Manage projects within agreed budgets and timelines, ensuring quality results.
What You Will Bring
- Completed an Engineering apprenticeship or qualified to an NVQ Level 3 minimum, or be a time‑served engineer with relevant mechanical engineering experience (ESSENTIAL).
- Expertise in maintaining gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and motors (ESSENTIAL).
- Hands‑on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic repairs (ESSENTIAL).
- Experience with Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel.
- Knowledge/experience in non‑woven manufacturing or a related field (Preferred).
