Location: CoventrySalary: Up to Β£40,000 with progression opportunitiesPermanentHours: 37.5 : DaysOverview This is a hands:on Lead Electrical Assembly Technician role within a manufacturing environment focused on the assembly and testing of electric vehicle (EV) charging systems.You will take responsibility for assembling and testing EV charging equipment, while coordinating day:to:day build activities and ensuring work is completed to the required quality and technical standards. The role requires strong electrical assembly experience and a solid understanding of electrical principles.Key Responsibilities Assemble electrical and electro:mechanical components used in EV charging systemsCarry out detailed electrical assembly including:CrimpingMini:Fit and similar electrical connectorsCable and wiring harness assemblyRead and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics accuratelyPerform electrical and functional testing on assembled unitsSoftware:based testing can be trainedUse test equipment such as a multimeter to check continuity, resistance, voltage, and functionalityAct as the Lead Electrical Assembly Technician within the assembly area, coordinating and delegating tasks as required (no direct line management)Work to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and:Identify opportunities for improvementAmend or help create SOPs where requiredSupport engineering and manufacturing teams with rework, issue resolution, and continuous improvement activitiesEnsure all work is completed in line with quality, safety, and environmental standards within a regulated manufacturing environmentEssential Skills and Experience Required Proven experience in electrical assembly within a manufacturing or production environmentStrong understanding of electrical fundamentals, including Ohms LawAbility to read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematicsConfident using a multimeter and electrical test equipmentHands:on experience with crimping tools and electrical connectorsHigh attention to detail with a strong focus on qualityDesirable Inspection and Testing qualificationExperience assembling or testing EV chargers, power electronics, or similar electrical productsExposure to ISO9001 or other regulated manufacturing environmentsWhy Apply This Lead Electrical Assembly Technician position offers the opportunity to work on modern EV charging technology in a growing manufacturing environment, with scope to develop technical capability and responsibility over time.
