An established and highly respected law firm is seeking a talented Contentious Probate Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its expanding Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career within a supportive and collaborative environment, handling a broad range of contentious probate and private client disputes.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of contentious probate matters while also working closely with experienced practitioners on complex and high‑value cases. You will be responsible for advising clients on a variety of contentious probate and private client litigation matters, from initial instruction through to resolution. This will include:

  • Conducting legal research and investigations
  • Advising on complex and sensitive disputes
  • Preparing pleadings and court documentation
  • Representing clients at hearings, mediations and conferences
  • Working collaboratively with counsel, experts and other professionals
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong experience in contentious probate litigation
  • At least 3 years PQE (applications from those with more or less experience who can demonstrate the necessary expertise are encouraged)
  • Solid understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules
  • Excellent client care skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • Proactive, commercially aware, highly organised, and confident in handling sensitive matters involving vulnerable clients
