We are seeking a Buyer to join our clients aerospace team in Barnstaple. We are looking for an individual with experience in ERP/MRP and strong commercial awareness.

Requirements For The Buyer Role

  • Maintain effective stock control by aligning accurate forecasts with timely and efficient purchasing activity.
  • Create and manage purchase orders in line with demand plans and forecast requirements, ensuring stock levels and order quantities are optimised using lean planning principles such as PFEP.
  • Monitor supplier order confirmations and manage delivery commitments to ensure customer sales order dates are consistently met.
  • Actively review the customer order pipeline and chase supplier orders as needed to support on-time customer deliveries.
  • Manage supplier expediting activity, clearly communicating risks, delays, or issues to internal teams and stakeholders.

We Are Looking For Buyers Who Have

  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems with a strong understanding of inventory management and control.
  • Skilled in using PFEP techniques (Plan for Every Part).
  • Capability in managing and developing effective supplier relationships, alongside confident internal stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in expediting purchase orders and ensuring accuracy and compliance in supplier order acknowledgements.
  • Competent in analysing data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Business degree or equivalent experience.
  • CIPS qualified or actively working towards a professional CIPS qualification.
