At Boon Edam, we design, manufacture, and maintain high‑quality entrance systems from revolving doors and security doors to innovative speed gates. We support our customers at every stage of the process, from specifying the right product to installation, maintenance, and ongoing support.
Are you passionate about producing accurate technical designs, improving drawing standards, and helping the business deliver projects right the first time? If so, our CAD Technician role may be for you.
Key Responsibilities- Produce, amend, and maintain 2D CAD drawings in line with company standards and project requirements
- Support the development and coordination of BIM models and associated data
- Ensure all drawings accurately reflect customer specifications and site requirements
- Review and cross‑check factory production drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Installation teams to resolve technical drawing queries
- Identify potential design or installation issues early to support efficient and cost‑effective delivery
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure all documentation is version controlled and traceable
- Upload and manage drawings within customer document control portals
- Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act requirements and Golden Thread principles
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing standards, templates, and processes
- Proven experience producing accurate, high‑quality CAD drawings within a construction or engineering environment
- Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into detailed, compliant drawings
- Experience working with or supporting BIM models, with a willingness to develop capability further
- Proven experience managing drawings and documentation within structured document control systems
- Demonstrable ability to identify and resolve design issues through a methodical approach
