Thistle is looking for a full‑time Advanced Practitioner to lead our Meaningful Connections project which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and social participation of over 120 Armed Forces Veterans and their families across Scotland. You will be based at Thistle Foundations Centre of Wellbeing, Edinburgh and the project will primarily focus on engaging over 120 Veterans and their family members in Edinburgh, Lothians and across the central belt of Scotland. Over 3 years, the hope is to extend support into other geographic areas of Scotland where there is clear and unmet need. Therefore, this post will require frequent travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop partnerships with organisations across Scotland already engaging veterans
- Practice persistent engagement to help Veterans who struggle to receive support
- Deliver personalised 1:1 support
- Deliver Group‑Based Lifestyle Management Courses
- Engage with family members in group settings
- Develop the role of Veteran Peers
- Connect veterans with the wider community and partner services
- Use a monitoring, evaluation and reporting framework to learn and develop practice
