Location: Crewe - Initially onsite, then moving to 3 days per week onsite.

Contract: Inside IR35, until 30th June 2026 (potential for extension), 35 hours per week. Potential for International Travel.

Role Summary

The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will join a Technical Development team operating at the forefront of advanced manufacturing technologies. This role focuses on leading in-house metal additive manufacturing activities, supporting the deployment of binder-based metal technologies across the full product development lifecycle. The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will work within a world-class facility, driving improvements in cost, quality, and delivery through innovative engineering solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Act as the technology lead for in-house metal additive manufacturing.
  • Schedule and operate Lithography Metal Manufacturing (LMM) printers, including post-processing and sintering.
  • Develop print, de-binding, and sintering parameters for multiple materials and applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy metal additive manufacturing throughout product development.
  • Coordinate material and component validation testing, including finishing and post-processing techniques.
  • Provide technical support across in-house polymer additive manufacturing technologies, with a focus on powder-based processes.

Requirements of the Role

  • Experience working with LMM hardware or similar binder-based metal manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with de-binding and sintering hardware and processes.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design with strong understanding of DfAM principles.
  • Strong safety-first mindset with knowledge of manufacturing safety procedures.
  • Experience with powder-based polymer technologies such as MJF or SLS.
  • Degree-level qualification in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.

Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitments contribution towards Employer Costs.
