We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home. The successful candidate will plan, organise, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of our residents, with particular emphasis on senior care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care. Duties:

  • Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive ability, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care.
  • Organise daily, weekly, and special events that encourage participation and foster a sense of community among residents.
  • Collaborate with care staff to identify individual resident preferences and needs, ensuring activities are personalised and inclusive.
  • Maintain activity supplies and equipment, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Record resident participation and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of programmes and adapt activities accordingly.
  • Promote social engagement through one-on-one sessions or group activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, games, or outings.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure a supportive environment that respects each individual's dignity and preferences.

Skills:

  • Experience working in assisted living environments or nursing homes is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and Alzheimer's care.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities that cater to diverse needs.
