Accounts and Finance Assistant
Sherburn in Elmet, West Yorkshire LS25
A GBP 28,000 - A GBP 30,000 per annum
Permanent Office based role
Working Hours: 8.30 - 5.30 Monday to Friday
Saturday working on a rota basis (May to November) paid in addition to basic salary
Commutable from Castleford, Pontefract, York, Selby, Tadcaster, Wetherby, Leeds and Garforth
The Role
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, strong teamwork ethic with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the individual to meet deadlines whilst also being able to respond to daily requests from the accounts manager and procurement manager.
Main Duties:
- Maintain Purchase Ledger
- Processing supplier payments
- Raise Sales Invoices
- Remind customers to make timely payments
- Identify and address discrepancies in all documentation
- Update internal spreadsheets
- Reconciling bank and credit card transactions
- Supporting the preparation of management accounts and month end duties
- Entering journals
- Assist and support the Procurement Manager and the Finance Manager when required
Skills:
- Accounts experience
- Knowledge of VAT treatment
- SAGE 50 experience beneficial
- Strong IT skills
- Ability to prioritise and have great attention to detail
- Ability to work on their own as well as part of the team, create own deadlines and manage own workload
Benefits:
