If so, Horizon Care and Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at our school based in Tipton. Tipton Green College is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls. Based in Tipton, the college meets the diverse needs of pupils aged 11-19 with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. What you’ll get to do:
- Assisting students in their educational and social development.
- Provide support inside and outside of the classroom, so they can fully engage in a wide range of activities.
- Help to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
- Support teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in the classroom in a positive, non-disruptive manner.
- Working 1:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Experience of working with children who have behavioural support needs with a good knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
- Grade C or above GCSE in English and Math, or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
