We have an exciting 15-month fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our Commercial team as a Telephone BDM (TBDM). Experience of operating within a customer service and sales focused environment is essential for this role, as well as a proven track record operating in a business development environment would be preferred.
As a key member of the team, you will drive mortgage lending volume by identifying, developing, and maximising business opportunities through mortgage intermediaries. You will provide exceptional service, build relationships, answer broker queries, and increase business opportunities to expand the Society’s market share.
This role is ideal for someone qualified in CeMap, or willing to complete the qualification, with strong experience in customer service and sales focused environments, excellent attention to detail, and an ability to provide excellent customer service while embracing a collaborative way of working to achieve great broker outcomes.
Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 per annum depending on skills and experience
Location: Head office based in Tipton with hybrid working, following probation, 2 to 3 days at home each week.
Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm
In this role you will:
- Professionally and efficiently deal with telephone and email enquiries from mortgage intermediaries.
- Proactively develop new business relationships with third party mortgage intermediaries through regular engagement and exceptional service.
- Assist in the review, completion, and approval of any Decision in Principle’s in accordance with the lending policy.
- Demonstrate initiative, a flexible approach, and take responsibility for your own actions, deadlines, and targets.
- Collate market feedback to support the ongoing development of the proposition to ensure the Society continues to be a lender of choice within our target markets.
- Be well organised, able to show initiative and resourcefulness, and be a flexible team player with an ability to work under pressure both in a team and independently.
- Have excellent communication skills and embrace our Values to provide excellent customer service.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the field-based BDMs, assisting them with the management of their broker contacts and key accounts.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience of and proven track record operating in a business development environment is preferred.
- Experience of operating within a customer service and sales focused environment or able to show a good understanding of what such a prominent and key position entails.
- Good administrative skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to prioritise own workload and manage time in order to produce accurate and thorough work whilst working to deadlines.
- Able to provide excellent customer service and embrace a collaborative way of working to achieve great broker outcomes.
- Excellent time keeping and attendance and flexible with time in order to ensure that the Department meets its objectives.
- An ability to engage with others and be a team player.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CeMAP qualified or willingness to study and complete.
- A minimum of 5 GCSE grades 9 to 4 / A* to C (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
