This is a full-time hybrid role for a Mortgage Processor based in Tipton, with the flexibility to work from home on occasion. This role includes reviewing documentation, working closely with mortgage brokers, verifying borrower information, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with the underwriting team to ensure smooth loan processing. The role requires attention to detail and strong communication skills to provide excellent service to customers at all stages of the mortgage application process.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the department email inboxes, incoming telephone calls and post.
  • Process new applications received requesting outstanding information, instructing valuations and data entry into the core system.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and provide progress updates from receipt of application through to mortgage completion.
  • Ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail making sure all applications are fully compliant and processed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue mortgage offers in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide an accurate and efficient service from post mortgage offer through to mortgage completion.
  • Manage all incoming completion enquiries via phone and email.
  • Ensure that following redemption, the Society's charge is removed in an accurate and timely manner at Land Registry.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • To be able to deliver a high standard of customer service and administrative skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise own workload and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, building good relationships with all third parties and colleagues.
  • To work under pressure, working to deadlines, as part of a team and individually.
  • To be reliable and flexible with time in order to ensure that the department meets its objectives.
  • To be adaptable to new technology as required, including the use of Laserfiche.
  • The ability to provide excellent customer service and to embrace the principles of Treating Customers Fairly and the Society's values.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE grades 9 to 4 / A* to C (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Ideally, knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending, although not essential.
