Overview
As Principal, AI Transformation, you will drive AI-led operational change within Tipalti’s AI Foundry, embedding with G&A functions (Legal, People, FP&A) to redesign end-to-end processes.
You will identify gaps, map workflows, and ship AI-enabled fixes using modern tooling while ensuring governance, security, and compliance.
You’ll balance build-vs-buy decisions and communicate a clear tech strategy across divisions.
This role blends hands-on delivery with strategic leadership to scale AI across the finance organization.

Responsibilities
- Understand customer pain points in Legal, People, and Finance and identify constrainsts and effective problems to solve
- Map end-to-end workflows, detect handoff failures, and design cross-boundary AI leverage
- Build, prototype, and deploy AI solutions using Claude, agent frameworks, MCP-based tooling, APIs, and data integrations
- Assess buildability, security, privacy, regulatory and maintenance considerations for internally developed vs purchased solutions
- Advise divisional teams on tech stacks, data ownership, integrations, and cross-tool siting of agents and automations
- Design for reliability with failure-mode planning, monitoring, access controls, auditing, and incident response
- Define success metrics, track adoption and performance, and iterate based on actual usage
- Operate with strong collaboration across frontline teams, CFO, CLRO, CPO, and engineers to translate business problems into technical specs

- Comfort with terminal, API docs, and scripting (Python, Type Script, or similar)
- Fluent with Claude or frontier models, including agentic coding and evaluation
