We’re TIP Group – a proud Great Place to Work® – and we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Tanker Technician to join our team. We are excited to announce the expansion of our team due to increased business demand. We are searching for skilled Technicians who are ready to work in one of the best workshop facilities in Yorkshire. Our modern state‑of‑the‑art workshops are fully equipped with all the tools, equipment and machinery you need to do the job properly and safely.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out servicing, inspections, MOT preparation, and diagnostics (ABS/EBS) across a range of semi‑trailers and rigid tankers
- Complete mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding repairs (MIG/TIG)
- Maintain and repair tanker ancillary equipment, including pumps and compressors
- Accurately record all work via tablet systems, identifying and escalating warranty issues where required
- Support workshop operations through good housekeeping, stock control, and adherence to H&S standards
- Work collaboratively with Supervisors and Managers while continuing your technical development (IRTEC, ABS/EBS, Welding)
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant qualification (City & Guilds or IRTEC preferred) with 3+ years’ experience in commercial vehicle/trailer maintenance
- Proven hands‑on experience across diagnostics, repairs, and servicing
- Strong problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
- Confident using diagnostic tools and digital job systems
- Strong communication skills and a genuine pride in delivering quality work
