This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll take ownership of workshop performance, keep trailers on the road, and lead a team that takes real pride in doing the job right.
Responsibilities
- Managing workshop operations, including loading, repair prioritisation, systems, and processes to meet customer and business demands.
- Working closely with a supportive, hands‑on team to maintain safe, efficient, and high‑performing workshop practices.
- Keeping our customers' fleets road‑ready by minimising truck and trailer downtime and identifying the most economical repair solutions.
- Ensuring all inspections, services, and repairs meet company standards and comply with all EHS and mandatory legislation.
- Analysing maintenance trends, managing staffing and overtime, and highlighting performance and commercial opportunities to management.
Qualifications
- Time‑served technician background or City & Guilds Level 1, 2 & 3 (or equivalent) with solid trailer and truck repair experience.
- Previous workshop or team management experience (highly advantageous).
- Strong organisation, admin, and IT skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- A confident communicator who can challenge, question, and work autonomously.
- A proactive mindset and a sense of ownership in your work.
- A good sense of humour – we work hard, but we like a laugh too.
